About Project

Many newly married couples would make 2D posters and place them at the entrance of their wedding place. These posters are almost all wasted after the wedding party. This couple originally ordered a full-color statue, took it as the center of the wedding party. Their relatives and friends all took photos with the high-simulation and rich-detailed model.

Solution

• Step 1: To produce full-color prints, a CAD model that contains the color information need to be built. Based on the photos sent from the client, our modelers build the 3D model of the couple and try hard to recover all the patterns on their beautiful wedding costumes.
• Step 2: A rolling batch leaves a uniform layer of sandstone-like powder. From there two printing heads pass over the batch, coloring and adhering to the object at the same time. The batch of powder then makes another pass, until the object is completed.
• Step 3: After printing, the parts are then coated with cyanoacrylate (super glue) or a different infiltrant to improve part strength and enhance the vibrancy of the colors. A secondary epoxy layer can then also be added to further improve strength and color appearance.
• Step 4: We also build the model of the round frame with reference to traditional Chinese windows and add a blessing word on the base. Then we print the base and frame with SLA Generic Resin using our industrial 3D printer. After necessary post-processing, we spray the model with red paint and clear acrylic, and add a LED light strip inside.
