About Project
Before you dive into the wild world of sim racing, you're going to need a wheel and pedals. Here are a small batch of sim steering wheel we made for Simcore company.
It features top-quality components like Otto P9 buttons, NKK toggle switches, CTS double duty encoders, CNC machined and anodized back case, 4mm CNC machined front carbon plate, CNC machined aluminum anodized knobs and button guards, and unique aluminum magnetic multi-adjustable shifters.
Solution
- Step 1: Check the STP file of the front plate, knob, shifter, and back case. We will use our 3-axis and 5-axis CNC millers depending on the geometries.
- Step 2: Mill the front plate using carbon fiber, and produce the back case, the knobs, and button guards, as well as the shifter, using aluminum.
- Step 3: Color the aluminum parts with anodic oxidation technique. Screenprint the company logos onto the parts.
- Step 4: 3D printing the master pattern of the enclosure with SLA printing technology. Then we apply the urethane casting technology to produce a low-volume of rubber parts.
- Step 5: Assemble the metal parts together with the rubber enclosures.
