About Project

The character F煤 means "fortune" or "good luck" and mounted F煤 is a widespread Chinese tradition associated with the Chinese New Year. Usually, the character F煤 will be torn off and thrown away after the Spring Festival. We designed and 3D printed the reuseable and durable fortune character with a desktop FDM 3D printer.

Solution

• Step 1: Create a square and draw the character F煤 in PS or AI or any other 2D graphics software. We combine the auspicious clouds with the character.
• Step 2: Import the 2D image into 3D modeling software like Cura, and add proper thickness to the lines. Other software that can create embossing will also be OK. Our designers can help if you have any difficulties with this step.
• Step 3: 3D print the model with FDM printing technology using FDM PLA. When finished, some simple sanding and polishing processes are needed.
